Yes, Michigan!

Hi! I'm back home after being gone for a week...it was camp week for the grand kids at my parents house.  It was packed with fun, but I'm still recovering :)  I thought I'd share a little home decor project that I finished a couple of weeks ago...

I pinned this image on Pinterest, and thought to myself, I could do that:

You can find the original post HERE.

I started by finding a Michigan image that I could print off, and cut out...

Here is mine:

Supply list:
Stampin' Up! - Cardstock (Whisper White, Real Red); Rhinestone
Creative Memories - Letter Stickers
GCD Studios [Indian Summer] - Patterned Paper
EK Success - Border punch
American Crafts - Large Silver Brad
Studio Calico - Wood Veneer

I liked the idea of marking where we were at in Michigan... so I punched out a red heart, ran it through my Xyron sticker maker, stuck it on a large silver brad, and topped it with a rhinestone.  The ends of the brad just slid into the rolls of paper, so it's completely move-able.  I also used a wood veneer location marker, just because I have so many....why not?
When I went searching for a MI image, I came across a shirt with the state on it, and you could order it with a heart on your location with this little quote on it...it was too perfect not to include on my picture :)

While working on my project, it brought back memories of this tourism promo song from my childhood, so I looked it up....

Thanks for looking!

Very cute idea!! I have the Cricut card 50 States, and thought this looked like a fun card idea too. For moving, etc. ;) Thanks for sharing!!

What a fun home decor piece! Being just one state away we love our "Michigan Adventures". Any visit to the lake is a relaxing one in my book.
I really like how you marked home and included that sentiment with it!
