CAS(E) this Sketch! #11, Tuesday Trigger: Sweet Dreams

More challenges!  I wish I had something more interesting to blog about, but, nope.  This is as interesting as I get, folks....

This week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Plus the current Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World:

Equals this card from me:

I couldn't get this die out of my mind when I saw the sketch.  I know it's a bit over sized, but I think that I made it work.  We won't talk about an envelope, though...maybe this will just be hand delivered :)

I feel like I'm using this color combo a lot, lately.  Not only does it keep coming up in challenges, but it seems like the majority of any new products I buy has at least one of these colors.  I'm not complaining, though...I really like them!

Supply List:

Cardstock - Stampin' Up! (Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White)
Stamp - Stampin' Up! (Best Yet)
Ink - Stampin' Up! (Early Espresso)
Patterned Paper - Lily Bee Design (All Spice 6x6 pad)
Die Cut Accent - Colorbok (Antique Paperie)
Die - Stampin' Up! (Lattice)
Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug (Cane Back Chair)

Retro Sketches #47, Dynamic Duos # 37, Inkspirational Challenges #4

This week's sketch from Retro Sketches:

Plus these colors from Dynamic Duos:

...and this challenge from Inkspirational Challenges:

I didn't do a full CASE of this card, but I was inspired by the strip being a 'negative' element, and so that is what I incorporated into my card...

Equals this card from me:

Super dark/overcast day today, so.... not very great photographs.

I love it when I'm browsing challenges, and some of them just seem to fit together perfectly.  I don't really have to do any thinking...it just all falls together.  I do admit, that I don't always love the results, but at least I didn't waste a whole lot of time on it...ya know?  There's nothing worse than spending a ridiculous amount of time on a project, and hating the outcome.
Anyway...

Supply List:

Cardstock - Stampin' Up! (Whisper White, Basic Black)
Patterned Paper - Stampin' Up (6x6 Designer Series Paper - Ruby Red)
Stamps - Stampin' Up! (Fabulous Florals); Heidi Swapp ( i love you)

Runway Inspired #27, The Paper Players #128, Unscripted Sketches #193

Couldn't pass up participating in these....

This week's inspiration from Runway Inspired Challenges:

Plus these colors from The Paper Players:

Base on this sketch from Unscripted Sketches:

Equals this card from me:

I used a blender pen and ink pads to color in the flower stamps, it gives it kind of a water color look.  I'm sure I'm not the first one to come up with this technique...but I started doing it any time I didn't have a marker in the color that I needed.

I once again combined inks, this time to come up with a color close to Daffodil Delight.  I inked up with More Mustard, tapped it off once on scratch paper, than tapped it onto Barely Banana.  Not as close to the real color as I would have liked, but it worked.  It probably would have been closer if I had used So Saffron, but I can't find mine.  I'm sure my 2 year old knows something about that.....

All Supplies are Stampin' Up!:

Cardstock - Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Stamps - The Art of Life, It's Your Birthday
Ink - Basic Grey, Pacific Point, Early Espresso, Barely Banana, More Mustard
rhinestones

Colour Q #172, Retro Sketches #46

Yay, another post!! I am REALLY trying to get into a routine, so that I can make time for challenges.  I do enjoy it so much, and it gives me the kick in the butt that I need to actually use my supplies :)

This week's colors from ColourQ:

Plus the current sketch from Retro Sketches:

Equals this card from me:

I was super excited to use a couple of stamps that I love, yet hardly ever use.  The flourishes are probably one of my favorite sets, except I have a hard time incorporating them into projects.  I was glad that I thought of this set right away when I saw the color inspiration photo.

I don't have most of the specific colors from the color challenge.  So, I used More Mustard, Pink Passion, and for the Poppy Parade ink (I had a small piece of cardstock) ....I stamped on Tangerine Tango first, and then tapped it onto Real Red.  I think the color came out pretty close.

Supply List (all supplies are Stampin' Up!):
cardstock - Basic Grey, More Mustard, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
ink - Pink Passion, More Mustard, Basic Grey, Real Red, Tangerine Tango
stamps - Triple Treat Flower, Finest Flourishes
embossing folders - Perfect Polka Dot, Square Lattice
other - rhinestones, rub on

CR84FN #70

Just a quick card to share today. I went on an impromptu trip to JoAnn's with my MIL and SIL, and got a new embossing folder, and some Spellbinders dies. So, of course I had to make some time last night to play with my new toys :) I didn't take a lot of time to browse the challenges, so I'm just linking up to one blog today...

This week's colors from CR84FN:

My card:

I probably should have used a different color for my 'aqua' color...this is what happens when you create things in low light.  This morning, when I went to photograph it...I noticed in the natural light that Marina Mist is more blue than aqua, and I probably should have gone with Baja Breeze, or maybe Soft Sky. But, I had fun with my new tools, so that's all that really matters, right? :)

Here is my full Supply List:

Cardstock - Stampin' Up! (Marina Mist, Whisper White, Crumb Cake)
Patterned Paper - My Mind's Eye (Lost and Found 2)
Stamps - Stampin' Up! (Birthdays Count)
Ink - Stampin' Up! (Crumb Cake)
Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug (Cane Back Chair)
Die - Spellbinders (Fancy Tags Three)
Border Punch - Fiskars
Die Cuts - Colorbok (Antique Paperie)
Button - Making Memories
Baker's Twine - Bloomerie (Etsy Shop)
Other - Stampin' Up! (Pearls, ribbon)

Giddy Up! : Stuck Sketches

I'm on a roll!  It won't last long, though, I'm sure....as we will be starting school back up next week.  I actually am anxious to get back to it, I just wish there were a few more hours in the day! I'm still trying to finish up my son, Oliver's 2 year book....it's almost done.  Just a few more pages to go.  I used a sketch from  Stuck Sketches to do the page I'm sharing today...

The sketch:

My page:

Obviously, my page is 8.5 x 11, so the first thing I usually do is eliminate white space. Most of the time I have to change the placement of the title and journaling, too. Here is what I used....

Patterned Paper - Die Cuts With a View (All About Boys - green polka dot/stars); The Paper Studio (notebook, solid green/polka dot)

2013 Team Intro Blog Hop

Hi! My name is Kelly Holbrook, and I'm from Homer, MI.  I am 33 years old, have been married for 12 years, and have 5 awesome kids.  I am a stay at home mom, but I also homeschool 3 of  my 5 kids.  When I am not busy with that or scrapbooking, I also enjoy knitting, running, and photography.  I have been scrapbooking since 1998, and a MemoryWorks Consultant since 2006.  I would describe my scrapbooking style as Clean Lines/Eclectic.  I scrap 8.5 x 11, and I usually like to include at least 2 photos per page.  My go to supplies are tools, my favorites being punches, and embossing folders.  My favorite MemoryWorks brands are Lily Bee Design, Jenni Bowlin, and Simple Stories.  This is my 3rd year as a TeamWorks member, and I'm super excited about 2013!

Happy New Year!  Welcome to the 2013 Team-Works Intro Blog Hop...it promises to be another great year! If you are just joining us, be sure to go back and start at the MemoryWorks Blog....and if you get lost along the way, there is a Blog Hop Map at the end of this post. If you're right where you need to be, then I am excited to share with you some of my projects using some Simple Stories, and Lily Bee Design products.

You are Beautiful to me:

Beautiful Girl:

Simiple Stories Fab{U}lous collection
Both of the previous layouts were done in under 15 minutes.  I love how the Simple Stories lines make it so easy to layer things together quickly, yet still have eye catching results...and with so many quick title options.

Thanks:

I used the 6x6 paper pad  for this card. LOVE 6x6 pads :)

2.5 inch Office Binder:

Lily Bee Design Allspice collection
I make a lot of albums...so to save money, I always alter binders. Not only is it cheaper, but it also make them more personalized. It is also the main reason why I scrap 8.5x11.

That's it, I hope you enjoy meeting the rest of the team...

...and you're off to Cathie's blog!
