Bella Blvd. Project Share - Altered Vintage Typewriter Case

We drove through Allen, MI a couple of weekends ago, which is a little town FULL of antique shops.  We were just looking, but we came across this vintage typewriter for $20, and the old luggage rack it's sitting on for $10....

I already have an antique typewriter, that is way too old to actually use.  I have it sitting on top of my scrapbooking cabinet, and occasionally use it to hold my cards or tags when I photograph them.  But, I really wanted one that I could stick some journaling cards in, and type on. This one actually works, although I haven't been brave enough to try it, yet.... I need to just stick some plain cardstock in there to practice a bit.  It also came with a case, which is pretty dirty and worn.

I washed it up a little with a damp rag, and decided it needed some love...

I used Piggy Punch High Five Alphas for the quote, it says: "Let me live, love and say it well in good sentences."  -Sylvia Plath

I used a little Modge Podge to stick back down some of the fabric that was peeling up at the corners, and then used Designer Tape (Ice Stripe, Pony Stripe, Piggy Pink Stripe, Yellow Chevron) over some of the really worn spots. I also applied some Modge Podge over the tape, to make sure that it didn't peel back up.

That's my fun new addition to my little scrapbooking corner...Now, I just need to try it out!

Thanks for looking!

Bella Blvd. Page Share - Mama's Boy

I got my box of Bella goodies...and couldn't wait to dig in. So, I grabbed a photo of Oz & I...and chose the Kiss Me collection.

Mama's Boy:

Love NotesBorders and Cute CutsAlpha+Bits, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Freestyle Pickle Juice, Freestyle Scallop, Piggy Punch High Five Alphas, Blueberry Sienna Alphas, Scallop Crochet Hearts, Masculine Mix Buttons, and Pink Arrows

Those little speech bubbles were perfect, because he is always saying 'I love you' in some sort of way.  "I love you too, Mom", "I love you so much, Mom."...If I just say 'I love you', he'll tell me, "No, mommy...you have to say: I love you too, Oskar."

I had such a good time pulling things out of the box to go with it.  I also used some of the Sophisticates line. So fun to mix and match, I can't wait to do some more :)

In other news, here is how I spent the first half of my Saturday....

After soccer, we went down to the Historical Blair Farm.  Today was the day for their annual fall festival, and it was beautiful weather for it.  We checked out the old farm equipment, went into all of the old buildings and read about Homer's history, listened to a cute little dulcimer band while we ate our hotdogs, checked out the craft booths, and finished up with a relaxing wagon ride....

Then, we had icecream for dinner, and watched Ironman III.  It was a pretty good day :)
