Yes, Michigan!

Hi! I'm back home after being gone for a week...it was camp week for the grand kids at my parents house.  It was packed with fun, but I'm still recovering :)  I thought I'd share a little home decor project that I finished a couple of weeks ago...

I pinned this image on Pinterest, and thought to myself, I could do that:

You can find the original post HERE.

I started by finding a Michigan image that I could print off, and cut out...

Here is mine:

Supply list:
Stampin' Up! - Cardstock (Whisper White, Real Red); Rhinestone
Creative Memories - Letter Stickers
GCD Studios [Indian Summer] - Patterned Paper
EK Success - Border punch
American Crafts - Large Silver Brad
Studio Calico - Wood Veneer

I liked the idea of marking where we were at in Michigan... so I punched out a red heart, ran it through my Xyron sticker maker, stuck it on a large silver brad, and topped it with a rhinestone.  The ends of the brad just slid into the rolls of paper, so it's completely move-able.  I also used a wood veneer location marker, just because I have so many....why not?
When I went searching for a MI image, I came across a shirt with the state on it, and you could order it with a heart on your location with this little quote on it...it was too perfect not to include on my picture :)

While working on my project, it brought back memories of this tourism promo song from my childhood, so I looked it up....

MemoryWorks Spring Look Book Projects

TheTeamWorks team members have compiled a whole new way to display and share wonderful inspiration featuring MemoryWorks products from our current catalog. Be sure to check out all of the amazing ideas by clicking on the Link below!

I was super excited to be able to contribute some projects to the MemoryWorks Spring Look Book.  This is a new concept designed to help consultants demonstrate ideas using the products, without having to carry a huge inventory.  This is a handy tool mainly because of how quickly the content changes in the catologs.  I was given 2 collections to work with, the first one is Simple Stories Sn@p....

The Good Stuff:

Hello:

What I love about any of Simple Stories' collections, is all of the different sized elements (flashcards, mats) that really make for fun and easy layering.

The second product line that I was given is Studio Calico's Here+There...

Lake Michigan:

@ The John Oliver Cabin:

You Are the Best:

This was my first time trying any of Studio Calico's products, and now I'm hooked :)  Those little wood veneer were super fun to work with!

I loved working with both of these collections.  Be sure to follow the link at the top of this post to see all of the amazing project created by the talented MW Design Team, showcasing more great product lines from the spring catalog.

GCD Studios - Red, White & Blue

Hi.. Today I'm sharing a patriotic page with Heidi Sonboul's Special Delivery collection.  The red and blue in these papers are perfect for a page of my very own Captain America....who is by far our favorite Avenger. It doesn't get much more American than that :)

To keep the page toned down, I started with a craft cardstock base....and just started layering all of my elements at the top/center.

The big Avengers 'A' is actually a clothing tag from one of my son's shirts...it fit in perfectly.

A set of red, white and blue punched stars with brad centers finishes the look.

Thanks for stopping by!

GCD Studios supplies used:
Special Delivery 12x12 paper - Dillon #2040
Special Delivery 12x12 paper - Jack #2043
Special Delivery 12x12 paper - Zach #2048
Special Delivery Label Stickers - #2052
Special Delivery Die Cut Borders - #2055
Sunkissed Alpha Stickers - #2032

I had the super fun job of creating projects for MemoryWorks with the Express Kit this month......And, oh my goodness! All the goodies from the I Heart Summer collection from Simple Stories in this kit made had me drooling.  It has very quickly become my new favorite product line. Here is what I came up with...

Layouts:

Oval Beach
I don't make a lot of mini albums, so I love using the 6x8 pages as a starting point for layering on my pages.  I also really enjoyed those little die cut flashcards...so fun!!

Poolside
Here, again I used a 6x8 page, and I also cut up the bingo card patterned paper to add to my layers.  It turned out a bit busier than my usual, but I still like the look.

Cards:

Hello
This was probably my favorite die cut flashcard.  I knew that I really wanted to use it, and decided that I liked it best on a card.

Let's Ride Away
Oh my, I LOVE, love this little bike. This little flashcard made for a super quick and cute card.

Hook, Line & Sinker

This was the very first card that I put together. It started out with just one section of the fish border. The second one (the one under the line), was an after thought...I think it looks so much better.

Add a Little Sunshine
That polka dot ribbon is the cutest...I loved all of the ribbon that came in this kit :)

Altered Project:

Summer Mini Album

The kit included a package of chipboard album dividers, page protectors, and book rings. So, I used them to put together a little Summer Mini. Like I said, I don't use mini albums...so this will probably end up being a gift for somebody.

I had so much fun with this month's kit! FYI, even if you don't subscribe to the MemoryWorks Express kits, you can still order them individually.  So, if you're interested for the month of June, don't hesitate to contact me :)
