Bella Blvd. Project Share - Altered Vintage Typewriter Case

We drove through Allen, MI a couple of weekends ago, which is a little town FULL of antique shops.  We were just looking, but we came across this vintage typewriter for $20, and the old luggage rack it's sitting on for $10....

I already have an antique typewriter, that is way too old to actually use.  I have it sitting on top of my scrapbooking cabinet, and occasionally use it to hold my cards or tags when I photograph them.  But, I really wanted one that I could stick some journaling cards in, and type on. This one actually works, although I haven't been brave enough to try it, yet.... I need to just stick some plain cardstock in there to practice a bit.  It also came with a case, which is pretty dirty and worn.

I washed it up a little with a damp rag, and decided it needed some love...

I used Piggy Punch High Five Alphas for the quote, it says: "Let me live, love and say it well in good sentences."  -Sylvia Plath

I used a little Modge Podge to stick back down some of the fabric that was peeling up at the corners, and then used Designer Tape (Ice Stripe, Pony Stripe, Piggy Pink Stripe, Yellow Chevron) over some of the really worn spots. I also applied some Modge Podge over the tape, to make sure that it didn't peel back up.

That's my fun new addition to my little scrapbooking corner...Now, I just need to try it out!

Thanks for looking!
