Scrapbook Circle: 1 Product, 2 Ways

I was up over at the Scrapbook Circle Blog, along with fellow CT member, Diana Waite, last Tuesday for their 1 Product/2 Ways  post.  We used the exclusive Scrapbook Circle wood veneers from the April Kit, One Fine Day

Together
Along with the main kit, I also included elements from both the Stay Cool and Now or Never add on embellishment kits.
I liked the idea of using all of the veneers on my page, and thought that they looked nice in grid directly beneath  my photo. I chose papers and embellishments that sort of enhanced colors from the picture, keeping the area behind the grid white so that they would stand out.
Be sure to head over to the Scrapbook Circle Blog to see how Diana used the wood veneers on her cute page! Need more ideas on how to use the April Kit? Check out the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery.

Bella Blvd + Illustrated Faith: Grow in Him

We're focusing on the She Blooms collection for a few days this week over at the Bella Blvd studio Blog. I LOVE this collection, and chose to create a page using one of my girls' 13th birthday photos.

Grow in Him
Supplies:
IF She Blooms: She Blooms, Floral Stripe, Art Prints, 3x4's, Treasures & Text, Chipboard Icons, Paper Pieces, Bloom Washi Tape: IF Basics: Fly Free Stamps, Acrylic block, Black Eyed Pea Pigment Ink, .25 Precision Pen, Shanna's Favorite Acrylic Paint Set; IF Homespun Alpha Stickers: Bless Her Heart, Oh My Heavens, Apple of My Eye; IF Homespun Number Stickers: Bananas For You; Enamel Dots: Cotton Candy; IF Genesis Kit: Wordfetti Black; Cute Clips: Eve's Mix

I love to make grids with 3x4 cards. They are fun to pop - up, alter, or add lots of layers to. For this layout, I used the 3x4 card on the left for some hidden journaling. I punched a hole in the little green journaling card, added a Cute Clip and placed it where I wanted - slightly overlapping my photo.

Then, I added foam adhesive dots on either side and one directly underneath it to keep it in place. Finally, I punched a notch in my 3x4 card, added 2 more adhesive foam dots to the bottom, and placed it over my journaling card.

Head on over to Bella Blvd to see more inspiration using the She Blooms collection, and an amazing layout by the very talented Stephanie Buice...

Bella Blvd + Illustrated Faith: Make a Joyful Noise

I am up over at the Bella Blvd Studio Blog today for the Illustrated Faith Feature. I have created a more masculine page combining several collections...

Make a Joyful Noise
Supply List:
IF Whatever is Lovely: Lovely, Art Prints, Treasures & Text; Fresh Market: Tutti Fruiti, Whole Lotta Seeds, Sweet to Eat; Max: Rock Star; IF Genesis Kit: Wordfetti Black; IF Paper Pieces: Pop Culture, Encouragement; IF Designer Tape: Joyful Noise; IF Tools: Date It Roller Stamp, Black Eyed Pea Pigment Ink Pad, .25 Precision Pen; IF Enamel Hearts: Heaven's Mix, Sugar Sugar

I paired up some elements from the IF Whatever is Lovely collection along with Bella Blvd's Fresh Market and Max collections for a more masculine page. Using some of the New Illustrated Faith Paper Pieces also made it easy to customize my theme.

I am having so much fun mixing and matching all of the new IF goodies with the Bella Blvd collection. I am also really enjoying the new Praise Book...if you are interested in the Praise Book, but unsure of how to use it, or what to do with it...you should definitely stop by the Bella Blog today for some wonderful inspiration.

Stuck?! Sketches: February 1 Challenge

Hello....I'm participating in another sketch challenge, this time over at Stuck?! Sketches for their February 1st challenge. Here is the sketch...

I definitely was inspired by the sketch, but I did a few things differently. Some of it due to the page size difference...and some of it just happened :) Here is what I came up with...

 Blah
Supplies:
SEI(Forever Sassy: Assorted Overlays, Sundries, Stickers, Cheeky Snippets, Shellac Me, Extravagant Attitude, Very Daring, Kiss Me at Midnight)
American Crafts(Amy Tangerine: Today foam Thickers)
Illustrated Faith(stamps)
Autumn Leaves (Journal Stamp)
Bella Blvd (Black Chevron Designer Tape)
Imaginisce (Baker's Twine)

I'm still using up quite a bit of product from designing for SEI. This is from their Forever Sassy collection...which was one of my favorites. The colors matched perfectly with Lauren's shirt.

Disclaimer: Leah didn't really give Lauren a wet willy while she was sleeping...These picture were totally staged, by their father of course ;) Leah was all too willing to play along.

Bella Blvd + Illustrated Faith: Meet Me

Hello! I have a layout up today over at the Bella Blvd Studio Blog using the Whatever is Lovely collection and Genesis Kit from Illustrated Faith.

Meet Me

Supplies:
IF Whatever is Lovely: Admirable, Treasures & Text; IF Genesis Kit: Point It, Love It, Wordfetti White, Little Bits: Books of the Bible; Typed, Oh My Heavens, One in a Melon; Big & Bold: Hey Sugar Sugar; Just Add Color: Passcode: Tiny Text Alpha Stickers; Black, Enamel Dots: Bell Pepper; Little Bits: White

I usually wake up with my husband in the morning to make his lunch and send him off to work. Then, I have the house all to myself for about an hour before the kids wake up. This time is perfect for devotions and prayer. Francesca Battistelli's song "When the Crazy Kicks In" sums up my thoughts on this perfectly, so I used some lyrics for my title and journaling.

You should definitely check out the rest of the beautiful layouts featuring the Bella Blvd & Illustrated Faith projects over at the Bella Blvd blog...always loaded with inspiration!

Let's Get Sketchy: February Week 1

I'm really trying to get back into creating just for fun here, lately. It seems that I've fallen into a slump the last few years, and have only been making projects for assignments. So, I've turned to some sketch blogs for some quick inspiration.

I came across this one at Let's Get Sketchy...

The problem is that even with a sketch sometimes I don't know where to start. There are just too many options. So, when deciding if I want to try a sketch or not, I have to have some idea of what I want to do, or at least what products I want to work with. I guess that's why assignments are so good for me...it take all the thinking out of it....because when you have to think, it then becomes work :) When I saw this one, I immediately decided on a photo of Oskar...with the Tiny Tots collection from Bella Blvd.

Here is my take on the sketch:

YOUnique

I've also been trying to use more stamps on my layouts. I have a whole cabinet full of them that I hardly ever use. So, I pulled out a couple that I have from Stampin' Up!, and also a pretty ancient journal stamp...I think from Autumn Leaves?

Supplies
Bella Blvd: Tiny Tots (Toy Chest, Alphabet Soup, Borders, Daily Details, Treasures & Text, Paper Pieces); Freestyle Sophisticates (Freestyle Banana); Ciao Chip (Stars & Hearts, Whatnots, Amorie Alpha Guacamole, Amorie Alpha Blueberry); Molly (Treasures & Text); Enamel Dots (Milk White, McIntosh); Tiny Text (Pretty Boy)
Stampin' Up!: Stamps(Extreme Elements, Off the Grid); Ink (Real Red, Basic Grey); Die (Chalk Talk)
Autumn Leaves: Journal Stamp
other: white cardstock

I'm definitely going to try to keep pulling out my stamps to use...along with some other tools that I've been neglecting.
Loved this sketch!
