Bella Blvd + Illustrated Faith: Merry & Bright

I'm up on the Bella Blvd Studio Blog today with another Bella Blvd + Illustrated Faith feature...

Merry & Bright
Supply List
Whatever is Lovely: Admirable, Lovely, Praiseworthy, Art Prints, 3x4's, Treasures & Text; Illustrated Faith: Mini Olive You, Point It, Black Pen; Tiny Text: Pumpkin Spice, Festive; Clear Cuts: White Confetti; Enamel Dots: McIntosh; Amorie Chipboard Alphas: McIntosh

Well, you can't see his face, but my son Oskar was totally excited to play out in the snow. If you have any experience with toddlers, you know that lasted only until he got snow in his glove...which I think was a total of 15 min. I got my inspiration for this geometric heart from Pinterest. I used 2 1/8 inch squares cut in half diagonally, and then pieced them together. I layered on the white Confetti Clear Cut before adding the photo and embellishments.

A merry heart doeth good like medicine...Proverbs 17:22a

Cheerfulness has a great influence on our body, and contributes to the health and wellness of it. Especially a heart full of SPIRITUAL joy...Faith keeps our hearts from suspicion and distrust, hope keeps it from despair, and love keeps it from envy. The love of God helps us to see the best in every situation.
Happiness is good for our mind, body and soul!

Bella Blvd + Illustrated Faith: Traditions

I had a page up on Tuesday over at the Bella Blvd Studio Blog for the Bella Blvd + Illustrated Faith feature.

Traditions
Supplies
Whatever is Lovely: Praisworthy, Lovely, Admirable, Art Prints, Treasures & Text, Little Bits Books of the Bible, Hey Sugar Sugar Alphas; Clear Cuts: Chevies White; Christmas Cheer: Jingle All the Way, Treasures & Text, Trinkets

For the design of this page, I used a hexagon grid with photos that portray how we spend this special extra time together. I used one of the patterned paper hexagons as a journaling block, and layered on some embellishments. I also used a marker to change the Hey Sugar Sugar alphas to black.

It's always difficult this time of year as a designer, as companies obviously want you to show off their very beautiful Christmas collections. My family doesn't celebrate Christmas, so I don't have the typical photos that would highlight those products. People are always confused when I say we don't do Christmas. But, the fact is there is no mention of 'Christmas' in the Bible. There are, however 4 glorious accounts of Christ's birth (not necessarily in December), life, death and resurrection....which should be celebrated 365 days a year. He is the reason for EVERY season !

Designing for Bella Blvd + Illustrated Faith!

Hello! I am so pleased to share the news today that I will be back designing for Bella Blvd for several months! I applied for the recent Illustrated Faith Creative Team call, and although I did not get chosen for that...Shanna emailed me to ask if I would be interested in contributing to the Bella Blvd blog using the Illustrated Faith products. Of course I said yes! So, two other very talented ladies and I are joining the Bella Blvd Creative Team to focusing on projects for Illustrated Faith posts.

10 Ways To Love
Supply List:
Whatever is Lovely (3x4s, Art Prints, Treasures & Text); Illustrated Faith (Bless Her Heart stickers, Love it Stickers); Fresh Market (Tutti Fruiti); Spring Flings & Easter Things (Just Write Journaling Stickers); Tiny Text (Fruit Punch, Bold & Beautiful, Rainy Day); Little Bits (Books of the Bible); Enamel Dots (McIntoxh, Milk White, Guacamole); Designer Tape (Pickle Juice Stripe)

I saw something on Facebook awhile back that listed 10 ways to love, and I thought it was perfect for a page using our new family photo.  How much easier it would be living with each other, if we all just followed these 10 simple rules! I used the Little Bits: Books of the Bible to place the references by each rule, and highlighted them green to help them stand out. I also highlighted the first word of each rule blue, to help each one stand out from the verse that goes with it.

I would love it if you would head over to the Bella Blvd Studio Blog and check out Carol and Wendy's projects. I am so excited to be joining the team with them, and cannot wait to see what else they come up with!

Thanks for stopping by today!

SEI: Little Man

Last Friday, I shared this layout using the Hello Handsome collection over at the SEI Lifestyle Blog

Little Man
Supplies
Hello Handsome (Gentleman, Blazer, 6x6 pad, Stickers, Kraft Chips)
Sweet Sora (Puff Stickers)
Dill Blossom (Big Brads)

I started my page with a plain piece of white cardstock, and a 6x9 piece of patterned paper. I layered a 3x9 piece of patterned paper along with a 1x7.5 flag/banner to the bottom of the background piece. The photo went down on the center/left of the page, while I lined the right side of the page with some different sized squares. The top square is 3.5x3.5, and the bottom two measure 3x3.

I finished up my page by embellishing the squares, and adding a bit of journaling to the bottom right corner.

SEI: Beach Picnic

Today, I'm sharing a project that was up last month over at the SEI Lifestyle Blog using the Spring Picnic collection.

Beach Picnic
Supplies
Spring Picnic (Picnic Basket, Grandma's Blanket, Dad's Boutineer, Clear skies, Family Gathering, Stickers, Alphabet Stickers, Veneer Pieces)
Noteworthy (4x6 pad)

I started by making some pinwheels from a couple of the beautiful papers. While there are many tutorials on how to make these flowers, I cheated and used a die :)

For the layout, I covered about 1/3 from the top of a piece of white cardstock with patterned paper, and stitched it down. Using about 1/2 inch of the saome paper, I did the same to the bottom...overlapping my journaling card. I made a photo corner by cuttina  1 1/2 inch square of patterned paper diagonally, and layered it with my photo, 4x6 card, and 2 inch card close to the top of the page. After adding my title, I finished it  up by arranging the pinwheels along with some stickers.

SEI: Firework

Hello! For the next few days, I will be catching up on some projects created for the SEI Lifestyle Blog. You would think that I would have plenty of time to keep up since it summer...but, somehow that's just not the case...

Today, I have a 4th of July themed layout combining elements from the Forever Sassy and Noteworthy collections with the Summer Party Pad.

Firework
Supplies
Noteworthy (4x6 Paper Pad)
Forever Sassy (All Done Up, Assorted Overlays)
Metallic Basics (Gold Alphabet)
Summer Party Pad (Flowers, Labels, Straw flags, Stars, Confetti, Scrap Borders)

I started by covering the right half of my page with patterned paper after spattering a little paint along the left side, and then stitched it down. I secured a 4x6 card from the Noteworthy collection to the top center of the layout, and scattered my embellishments along the left of the page before layering on a few labels for journaling. Then, I added my photo.

I added my title cluster to the bottom right of the page using a couple labels and an overlay along with some letter stickers. To finish up, I used some scraps from the Summer Party Pad to make my borders along the top and bottom edges.
